Carragher: Chelsea ‘will have a major problem’ with Hazard

Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea will “have a major problem” in persuading Eden Hazard to stay after their limp performance at Manchester City on Sunday.
The Blues were beaten 1-0 at the Etihad by Pep Guardiola’s Premier League leaders but more concerning to many than the result was the champions’ lack of ambition.
Gary Neville was “disgusted” with Antonio Conte’s side, saying Chelsea “chucked it in”. Hazard also had his say.
Fellow Monday Night Football pundit Carragher agreed with Neville’s assessment and the former England defender believes whatever resolve Hazard may have had to leave Chelsea this summer will only have been strengthened.
“He’s the star player at Chelsea, but there has always been talk of him moving on,” Carragher said.
“I have no doubt that at the end of that game, as soon as he got on that coach or got home, he will have been right on the phone to his agent saying, ‘get me out of here’.
“Honestly, 100 per cent he would have been.
“He will have been that frustrated thinking, ‘I should be playing in this team, they’ve got the ball. I should be playing in a team that actually dominates the game’.
“Eden Hazard running around up there on his own, not getting a kick of the ball. You want to show everyone in the world watching how good of a player he is.
“I think they will have a major problem keeping him after that.”
Carragher claims watching Chelsea at City was a new experience for him.
“In watching football my whole life, 35-40 years, there’s not a lot you’ve never seen before,” he said.
“Whether that’s playing for your school, playing in the Champions League, watching amateur football, whatever level of football it is… I saw something on Sunday I have never ever seen before in my life on a football pitch.
“That was people walking, the whole team walking when the ball was like five of six yards away from them.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”
