Arsenal players ‘worried’ they cannot ‘compete’ under Wenger

Arsene Wenger’s future at Arsenal has been plunged into further doubt after it emerged that his players ‘have lost faith’ in his ability.
The Gunners will hold an end-of-season review into Wenger’s position in the summer, with the club out of the FA Cup, thoroughly beaten in the League Cup final, sixth in the Premier League and facing a daunting task in the Europa League.
They take on AC Milan in the last-16 of that competition but may also have to find a way past Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund if they wish to take the alternative route to Champions League qualification.
According to John Cross of the Daily Mirror, it is ‘increasingly likely’ that Wenger will leave the club at the end of the season, with the players and board ‘turning against’ him.
Cross informs us that ‘a growing number of players have lost faith in Wenger and whether he can take the club and the team forward’.
The squad also feel as though ‘it is time for change,’ that players are ‘worried’ they can no longer ‘compete’, that they are ‘slipping behind tactically’ and that their recent training schedule has left them ‘shattered’.
